Spring Countdown Blitz Day 2

Niahm (pronounced Neeve) Parker is thoroughly content with her life in the small town of Goshen. Her parents, who travel frequently for their work, have raised a headstrong, independent teen. While her peers can hardly wait for the opportunity to leave, Niahm plans to stay forever.

When Shane Coleman and his nephew Sam move into town, it's the biggest event to happen in as long as anyone can remember. It’s quite remarkable for anyone to move into Goshen rather than out, but when it’s discovered that Sam is 17, it requires some serious burning of the phone lines. All the teen girls are thrilled to have a new hottie in town—all except Niahm. Sam Coleman represents a threat to her perfect way of life.

Sam is drawn to Niahm against his will. He'd prefer to not be bound to this angry, stubborn, unlikeable girl. Unfortunately, he has no choice. However, Sam didn't plan on falling for Niahm. For Immortals, love is not only forbidden, but dangerous for her. He finds himself in a fight not only for Niahm's heart, but to protect her from being harmed by those who seek to destroy Sam and those like him.

Niahm finds herself attracted to the tall, copper-headed boy, who becomes her friend and then her support when tragedy strikes. Soon, she begins to realize that there may be more to Sam than she ever suspected... much more. But what he truly is, she can't begin to imagine

Bennett lives a most unglamorous life in the beautiful state of Utah. She is the author of several YA books in many subgenres. She's the mom of two daughters, two sons, two daughters-in-law, and a son-in-law not to mention her three adorable grandbabies. She loves gooey cookies, dark chocolate, and cheesy popcorn. She hates housework and cooking, and has no plans to become a domestic goddess. Her favorite pastime--other than writing--is riding her Harley.

Q & A with the Author:

1.      When did you start writing, and was there a specific event or person who influenced you to become an author?
Absolutely. I’ve talked about him before. My 9th and 10th grade English teacher, Steven Bickmore, is one of the biggest influences on my love of writing. Each day we’d come into class and be assigned a topic to write on for 10 minutes before moving on to the day’s lesson. It was the thing I looked forward to more than anything, those 10 minutes of pure creative flow.
2.        Are you currently working on a project, and if so, can you tell us anything about it?
I’m working on two, actually. One is the sequel to Immortal Mine, tentatively titled Immortal Yours. I’m also working on a new project that as yet is untitled. It’s about two best friends, one of whom is in love with the other, when tragedy strikes, completely changing their lives. It’s about them finding their way in their new reality, and how life can unexpectedly change in a blink, which isn’t always a bad thing.

Snippet #2
“How tall are you?” I blurt out. He blinks in surprise, and it occurs to me that my tone sounds a little accusatory, as if he’s been keeping it secret. I drop my voice to a murmur, “Not that I, you know, wonder about it very much, or anything.”
“I’m six-three,” he says. “How tall are you?” I glance up at him, and quickly away, but not before I see the grin and teasing glint in his eyes.
“About a foot shorter,” I say.
“About a foot?”
“Fine, exactly a foot, okay?” I know I sound sullen, but I still haven’t decided whether I should be nice to him or not—especially when I’m this confused about him. I’ve never been confused about a boy before. It’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I’ve never even kissed a boy before.
“Should I call you shorty, or shrimp?” he laughs.
I glare at his chest. “Should I call you lanky or Lurch?” I shoot back. Yeah, I know. Lame. But he only laughs more. Then he slips his hand from my shoulder and holds it toward me.
“You can call me anything you want if you’ll agree to a truce.”

Saved from a traumatic past and successful in her present as a home care nurse, Josselyn Adler’s dream of home ownership in the idyllic town of Unity are dashed to pieces when Dr Ben Parnell, a cancer specialist, shows up on her doorstep claiming to be the rightful owner of the house—and Ben has a will to prove it!  To Josselyn, the house represents a new start in her life. With a stable home, hopefully a much wanted family wouldn’t be far behind.

After a near career-ending allegation is made, Ben has returned home to lick his wounds. But now he must prove Josselyn’s claim to be a fake, that she used her position as a live-in nurse to his sick father to ingratiate herself into his good graces. But as he gets to know her, he can tell by her shy, often standoffish behavior, that Josselyn is a woman who has been deeply hurt in her past. Although he is attracted to the dark haired beauty that has invaded his life, he is still suspicious of her true motives and her past involvement with his father.

 Snippet Time!
“This is my house. Morgan Parnell left it to me in his will. Now he...” She paused and pointed at Ben. “He thinks it’s his house.”
“I have a will, too,” Ben loudly interrupted. “And mine is legitimate!”
His deep voice vibrated through her, causing her head to ache. Flustered, she pulled an envelope from her handbag. Morgan’s attorney gave to her a copy of the will a few days earlier. She handed it to Officer Smith. To her dismay, Ben also produced a document from a briefcase.
This is very bad.
She hoped Ben had been bluffing.

Here are a few fun author questions.
5.    When did you start writing, and was there a specific event or person who influenced you to become an author?
I was first a reader, then a long time reviewer, and finally a writer. I always knew since I was young I wanted to write, but after reviewing for a while, I realized I could write a book, too.
6.    Are you currently working on a project, and if so, can you tell us anything about it?
I’m currently anticipating the release of my upcoming fantasy romance, Undoing the Swan Girl.

Saving Sarah May Review

Losing everything doesn’t mean you can’t start over again.

Adventurous Sarah May had everything, the perfect job, the perfect house, the perfect future. But when the love of her life is killed in Iraq, it plummets her entire world into darkness. Emily Frost never imagined an end to her abusive marriage. Now divorced, living with her mother, and raising her daughter, she vowed never again to give her heart to anyone. Food critic Kate Berkhill has jumped from bad relationship to bad relationship, and after her boyfriend dumps her for her sister, she’s decided to give up on men altogether. For three friends, a trip to Ireland seemed like the idyllic, carefree break from their troubled lives. Instead, the emerald isle forces each of them to face her demons head on, to discover herself, find healing, and possibly new love.

S. J. Reisner began writing at the age of ten and never stopped. Because she loves to read everything, picking a genre didn’t come easy. This is why she has four different pen names and writes everything from non-fiction to horror to contemporary romance. Her non-fiction and erotic romances have been bestsellers on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.  Under S. J. Reisner she writes general fiction, contemporary romances, adventure fantasy, and YA paranormal stories. This is her first published contemporary romance novel.  When she’s not writing you can find her herding cats, wrangling vegetables in the garden, or engaging in one of her many hobbies. She lives along the front range of the Rocky Mountains with her husband and two rescue cats. To learn more visit www.sjreisner.com

4 out of 5 Stars

This book was a simple sweet read. The pacing of the story made me almost feel like I was floating down a river in a gondola; slow, relaxing, and I can see the sites without much effort on my part. There was a bit of drama but luckily not enough to put me off (I don't do drama). The story swaps from each of the women's viewpoints so you see each day from each angle. If you listen to your books with a book reader it can be a bit confusing if you are not listening closely for the break from one women to another.
There is talk of people having sex but it is all off screen keeping this a clean read. I don't know if there is swearing, I don't notice things like that unless it is really vulgar, but there were not any words that caught my attention. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a clean book that is easy to read and contains a lot of happily ever after. This is the perfect book to read while lounging out in the sun.

Author Interview

Tell us about your writing - What genre do you prefer to write? What books, stories, other

publications that you've written are your personal favorites? Anything new coming up?

I write in a wide variety of genres and keep four pen names because of it. As S. J. Reisner I’ve

written mostly fantasy up until now. Saving Sarah May is my first contemporary romance novel.

So while this is my first published contemporary romance novel, it’s actually my eleventh

published novel.

One of my favorite current projects is an erotic paranormal romance series of novellas called

Dalliance with Demons that I write as Anne O’Connell.  But on the S. J. Reisner front, the next

upcoming project is the final fantasy novel in my Sorcerers’ Twilight trilogy, Eagle’s Talon

Gray.

What about you as a person? What do you do to relax? Favorite movies or tv shows?

Hobbies?

I’m a rogue alchemist and vegetable gardener.  Beyond growing things, making incenses, and

distilling oils, I spend a lot of time reading, walking, and binge watching British comedies. Vicar

of Dibley and Keeping Up Appearances are two of my favorites. Red Dwarf, Waiting for God,

Are You Being Served, Monty Python’s Flying Circus – they all rank right up there on my watch

list.

What gets your creative juices going? Do you write to a music, and do you want to share

your playlist?

Usually it’s doing non-writing things that gets the muse worked up. Especially when it’s

inconvenient. The more inconvenient the place – the better the ideas. As for music while writing,

I often do listen to music while writing, but the playlist isn’t fit for polite company. It consists of

mostly punk and thrash metal. My office probably sounds like Dante’s ninth circle of hell to

most people.

"All writers must have cats, especially if they write fantasy or speculative fiction." Do you

have a stand on this one? Any cute pictures of your kitty or other pet?

Yes. Cats are a must. They’re like mini-lions, tigers, leopards, and panthers. What could possibly

be cooler than that?  (Left – Amy, Right – Leela)

What organizations do you recommend for those wanting to become writers? Any advice

you'd like to share about writing?

I think joining a local critique group or local writers group is important for people just starting

out. There are a lot of great online groups out there, too. As for writing advice – 1. Write

something every single day, even if it’s just a paragraph. 2. Read something every single day,

even if it’s just a few pages.

Cover Reveal, Out of the Mists of Darkness

We are so excited to have Teya Peck back with us!!!!

Her most recent accomplishment started in the summer of 2015. Making her dad’s dream come true with publishing his works as well, as an emotional accomplishment. She is the 2016 local A.N.W.A. chapter (Snake River Writers) president, won NaNoWriMo and loves StoryMakers.
Teya has been writing for as long as she can remember. At a young age she lived on a street she affectionately named Hill Street Blues, which helped her creative writing. Her Family moved to Menan where she continued her love of writing. Her father would always be and will continue to be her inspiration, even after his untimely death in 2006.
She loves sitting in her soft chair next to the fireplace and watching out a big living room window. It gives her plenty of creative juice for stories.
She met the love of her life in the loft of a barn. Yep, that set up some teasing from her father. They have been happily married since 2003. They have four children and all are loving and supportive of her writing.  Her oldest daughter is following in her footsteps as a writer adding her own illustrations. She refuses to comment on the trolls in the closets and under the beds. She is active in her church, has compassion for others, and a love for all life brings.

Let's take a look at this wonderful Non-fiction, inspirational book.

This book is an inspirational piece of work. It includes real stories of people, who have personally overcome and lived through abuse. It shares hope and a light for all in the darkness of this increasing devastation. There is a light and this book could be your grasp to the light.

Let's take a look inside the book!

Lying in the darkness, tears streaming down my face, I clung desperately to the blanket pulled to my chin, my only protection in the world—or so I thought. Could I do this any longer?   Would there be no end to the darkness?   How could I get out?   The answer came readily—I couldn’t. I had to face this darkness, and I thought I had to face it alone. What I didn’t realize was that I wasn’t alone, nor would I ever be alone. I just had to find the light within the darkness of my life.
I had to fight. I had to protect myself, and I had to find any strength there was to find, but it would not be easy.
This is the journey I took to find the light and the strength to go on. How long that would take and what I would have to go through before I found that light and strength, I did not know.
