Piper first saw him in the ER after a gruesome accident, she watched over him for several days, finding something new to love each day. So when he finally wakes up and asks her to marry him, she obviously said yes. Piper just didn't know that this fairy tale, didn't end with a Happily Ever After.

If you enjoy load and loads of drama then I have the perfect book for you. This book read like a modern day historical romance. This includes ridiculous wills controlling not only the inheritance but the relationships of those involved, and a few other aspects of the story such is the main heroin being a virgin while her male love interest is well sexed up, but will refrain once the are married to become a monogamist. However it is not all love and romance as the story takes one troubling turn after another leaving you concerned about whether the end will turn out satisfactory for the characters. 

There really are not many things to warn about this book. There are sexual assault triggers, you know the basic premise of what has happened but it is not in detail. There may be some swearing, I honestly can't remember so it must not have been much even if there was. There are two sex scenes but neither are explicit, one someone walks in a room at the wrong time the other is between husband and wife. But again it doesn't go into detail.

I don’t actually know who this girl is, I found pictures of her on Pinterst, but she’s how I picture Anya. There’s something soft and innocent about her. Anya is very sweet and quite naïve. But she’s also very joyful and full of life.

I picture Zander as a teenage Gaspard Ulliel. He can be kind of serious and intense, but he’s a dreamer. He’s also a sweetheart and is pretty dreamy himself. ;)

When I received the opportunity to review Courting the Countess by Author Donn Hatch I jumped at the chance. This book was a bit different than the other books I read of hers (The Rogue Hearts series, if you haven’t read them, do! You won’t regret it) This book had a bit more romance and Drama but less intrigue and adventure then I was expecting. However, this was a great read. I really liked the honest look at the convoluted expectations and requirements of the day. Usually books focus on just the romance but Donna also brings to the table the actual repercussions of such a romance, where good people have to suffer the fall out. And for that fact alone I hope she is able to make this into a series because I desperately want to see them receive the HEA they deserve, even if it didn’t always happen in real life. (Note to Donna; please make some more books in the Rogue Hearts series first… please, please, please!!!)

Overall this book was a sweet and honest romance. If you enjoy romance and drama, you need to have this book in your collection. I don’t need to add any warnings, this book is squeaky clean.

“Get your hands off my sister!” a voice snarled.

Tristan snapped his head back and stepped away. Alone, Elizabeth wobbled on her feet. Her brother, Martindale, stalked into view, bristling like an angry dog.

With his hands held out, Tristan faced Martindale. “My lord, we were merely—”

“None of your lies, Barrett.”

Other voices made exclamations of delighted horror. Elizabeth faced a nightmare; most of the houseguests stared at her, including one of London’s worst gossip, Lady Einsburgh. Naturally they would assume the worst. Heat crawled up Elizabeth’s neck and burned her cheeks. She’d never live down the humiliation. Closing her eyes, she clamped her mouth shut to avoid screaming at the injustice of it all. She’d only desired a few moments alone with the man she loved. Instead, she’d been caught in an intimate embrace in a dark garden. Gossipers would spread an exaggeratedly sordid tale all over England. She’d be utterly ruined.

Immersed in his role of haughty marquis, Martindale snarled, “Consider your second, Barrett. Tomorrow you shall receive my challenge.”

Elizabeth’s heart stalled. A duel? “No, Martindale. You can’t do this.” Elizabeth’s protest died on her lips as her brother rounded on her.

“Silence! You’ve behaved like a common whore.”

Elizabeth recoiled as if he’d slapped her.

Tristan stiffened. “Hear now, that’s no way to speak to the lady. I give you my word, it was merely a kiss.”

Martindale let out a scoff. “And I should trust the word of a known rake?” He turned to Elizabeth, his eyes boring into hers. “You’ve brought disgrace upon the family.”

Tears burned Elizabeth’s eyes. Martindale was right. Only Tristan could save her from shame. She turned to him, silently pleading for rescue.

Tristan glanced at her, his expression unreadable, before returning his attention to Martindale. He lowered his voice. “Let us go inside and discuss this in private.”

“There’s nothing to discuss. You’ve compromised my sister. Choose your weapon.”
